The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) performs one of the most important jobs in the world. It surveys climate research and writes a report about what it all means. This report is informally known as the Climate Bible. Cited by governments around the world, the Climate Bible is the reason carbon taxes are being introduced, heating bills are rising, and costly new regulations are being imposed. It is why everyone thinks carbon dioxide emissions are dangerous. As the essayist and historian Luc Sante writes in his estimable forward to this centennial edition of "The Bottom of the Harbor": "This book of ostensibly journalistic feature stories turns out to hold at its core some of the fundamental questions of existence.". (Of course, there are always exceptions, and you know your child best!) I share my collection with my younger children, but I never leave them alone with any of those books. Each of the stories is linked with the characters and common thread but unique to itself.I'm not a contemporary book fan but I did enjoy these and will put them on my keeper shelf. But I found myself confused and overwhelmed with all the different U
