Matt J. Keeling is professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and the Mathematics Institute at the University of Warwick. Pejman Rohani is associate professor in the Institute of Ecology and the Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases at the University of Georgia.
Yet, Hong writes in a way that inspires continued hope and the knowledge that while painful and heart wrenching, this story has made her a stronger person. Pun totally intended. I am not from Africa, nor am I even Black, but her story and her emotions are so universal that it is easy to identify with much of what she has to say, and sympathize with what is foreign to me. I've long vanquished hydrogenated oils from my cupboard but canola was a real surprise. Another commentator on this book said that he might not have bought this book but it is very well written and drew him in when I asked him to read it. Although all 50 of the recipes are original, around 25 or so of the recipes, which were completely new to me were pretty good. But this is the foundation upon which all others seem to build.
