The famous saying in Japan is "In Nagasaki, they pray; in Hiroshima, they are angry." After you read this book I think you'll understand why. Big Book!. I've shared it with a number of recoverees and they all feel the same. This one slim paperback has brought me more understanding of the Japanese people--particularly of those who are Christian by heritage--than a college education did, and that was all in the first few chapters.

Some may feel that Glynn's tone sounds preachy or naive. The photos are understandably snapshot and Polaroid quality, and I would have liked more narrative from the actual guest-participants. But it wasn't a case of being consumed by a need to scrub the record. Ditto for Allen Barra's INVENTING WYATT EARP. The editors of this beautiful book found at a NYC flea market a giant collection of photos of male crossdressers relaxing and being themselves at an upstate vacation home, and wisely decided to publish the best of the photos with as little comment
