Glynn is well-acquainted with the misunderstandings that exist between Eastern and Western cultures. The many lapses and strange emphases within the text leave the end result as full of holes as the air and participating bodies at the O.K. At one point I began to wonder if Q ever met a man or a woman he didn't like. That said, I think Glynn is really an excellent storyteller, no matter how you feel about his tone or verbal mannerisms (some of which, after all, are probably Australian and therefore a little different-sounding to non-Australian ears). The subtitle, indeed, gives one the theme of this extended argument - but the argument itself is antiquated and relatively ancient.
