Liam Francis Walsh is a cartoonist, writer and illustrator who is originally from Wisconsin. His cartoons frequently appear in The New Yorker. Fish is Liam's first children's book and his first book for Roaring Brook Press. He currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
I couldn't help but notice this in one of the above reviews of the book"This book is ridiculous as the writer doesn't even know his subject, Peter Jackson, in person."
I find that statement interesting because the book discusses at great length the relationship between the author and Jackson. The sisters survived the war by performing for German soldiers and officers and living in constant fear of discovery of their Jewish ancestry.
After the war, Zhanna and Frina were liberated but homeless. It's overwhelming. If you are a casual baker of loaves it may be too much. Matthias is what you would call a witch hunter and basically hunts and executes Grisha believing them to be unnatural and all that. "Wyatt Earp" by Casey Tefertiller, "Inventing Wyatt Earp by Allan Barra, and "And Die In The West" by Paula Mitchell Marks. Thus, these IPCC staff were following an agenda. My only wish is that Dawson had continued the story beyond 1946 to cover the sisters' new life in Am
