This book could've been awesome if it was shortened into one solid novel. My biggest issue of the book resides with him because he was an idiot. Only now, to prolong this already longggggg drawn out story, this girl runs away like a coward or nut, I can't decide. If he didn't like his employer then why didn't he go to the police and tell them he was a quack job from Hades??? The situation and verbiage just wasn't a feasible conclusion with his character. Check out the Words of Wisdom included in each chapter. recommend it to others, I don't have anythoing more to say, just filling in words so I can submit.. As a SIGINT commando and EW expert, I can really only rate this book 3 stars considering the price. I have taught NOIR STYLE at Columbia University and CUNY, using my own book, NOIR, NOW & THEN (Greenwood Press, 2001) as the main text and have used all the FILM NOIR READERS in my courses.
