The extraordinary story of a young girl whose musical genius saves her from the Holocaust. By the age of six, Zhanna had developed a repertoire fellow students twice her age would envy. Scholarships to the most prestigious conservatories in the Soviet Union soon followedconservatories that had produced legends like Rachmaninoff, Kogan, and Horowitz.
In 1941 disaster strikes. The Nazi Army is smashing through the Ukraine en route to Moscow. Zhanna and her family are to be executed alongside thousands of others in the ravines of Drobitsky Yar. A few short miles from certain death, her father bribes a nearby guard, and she escapes into the forest with only the clothes on her back, a copy of Chopin’s Fantasy Impromptu in her pocket, and her father’s parting words echoing in her head: “I don’t care what you do, just live.”
Adopting a new identity and ever fearful of recognition, Zhanna roamed the ravage

480+ pages w/multiple pictures of trains on each page. The book was printed in the United States and it has a nice hard cover bearing an attractive design.. It is neither an academic treatise nor a polemic, but an investigative report into the operations of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) an investigation that uncovers a sleazy underbelly to a powerful and prestigious organisation before which much of the world's media, opinion makers and political leaders genuflect.
Laframboise brings a reporter's eyes and nose to the IPCC. Using mind talk, he warns her of an attack and saves her life.
The humans are to the point of rebelling on their mutant leaders and Kohl comes down on the humans with a firm hand. From his 1926 attempt to fly across the North Pole in a dirigible, to flying his custom-made plane over Antarctica in 1935 and discovering a mountain range now called the Ellsworths, Polar Extremes is a compelling biography of a daring and advent
